Text Box: Skills for Living & Learning is a non-profit agency providing specialized therapeutic and academic approaches to help children grow, develop and reach their potential. We have several programs to provide these services to children and families through our programs listed here. We also accept occupational therapy out-patients on an individual basis. Developmental play groups for children three to five years of age to provide activities that strengthen and develop skills in coordination, communication, socialization, sensory integration and independence. The group meets two mornings a week and activities are developed and supervised by an occupational therapist. A weekly after school group of children with challenges in the classroom, including learning disabilities, add/addhd, pervasive development disorder, sensory integration dysfunction and other developmental and neurological issues. Activities are designed and supervised by an occupational therapist and include sensory integration, Samonas Listening Therapy, Interactive Metronome, visual perceptual exercises, Wilbarger Protocol and other therapeutic strategies. An eight week program that meets three days a week for children 3 to 14 years of age to develop and strengthen developmental and academic skills. Hourly sessions throughout the day include occupational therapy, music, art, drama, academics, physical activities, socialization, problem solving—-and a lot of fun ! A tuition free, independent school for Kindergarten through 12th grade. Certified teachers follow accepted curricula to provide hands-on activities and practical experiences to small groups of student’s education. Learning portfolios are developed so that teachers can effectively teach to individual learning styles.
